Ayano has always loved Jazz and other music since she was still a teenager in Japan. She learned classical piano for 16 years and fell in love with Jazz and TRIED to learn Jazz piano. Although she was not talented enough to be a pianist :) she found another love in music world. She started to be interested in CD album covers and collected the copies. At this point, she was still not a photography lover, but was a CD album cover lover. She came to the United States to study English and somehow found herself being interested in photography. It was really "somehow", because she does not even remember why and when she decided to be a photographer. She visited a lot of jazz clubs, photographed there and made a lot of friends in the society.
