New York City Based Japanese Photographer, Ayano Hisa's Biography
Ayano Hisa was born in Saitama, Japan. She grew up in a family with lots of love for Art and Music. She learned classical piano for thirteen years and became into Jazz when she was in college. When she came to the United States of America, she started being serious about Art. She entered Rochester Institute of Technology and majored in photography.
During every vacations, she came to New York City and visited Jazz clubs with her camera. In 2006, she met Frank Stewart, who is a staff photographer at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and started interning for them. Since then, she has been photographing numerous musicians including Wynton Marsalis and Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Joe Lovano, Hank Jones, Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Urban Bush Women, Wycliffe Gordon, Chick Corea, Brian Blade, Savion Glover, Marcus Roberts, Willie Jones III among many other musicians, Jazz concerts, portrait of various musicians and dancers, music festivals, and so on. She also specializes in photographing wedding, engagement, head shots, events, documentary, photojounalism and street photography. Currently she lives and works in New York City.
